Ponte San Giovanni Bianco BG

As part of the project for the variant to the urban road network of San Giovanni Bianco (BG), in correspondence with the former SS470 of the Brembana Valley, LMSTEEL Consulting sagl carried out the executive structural design of the metal deck and the collaborating concrete slab, in addition to the 3D modeling - Design for Manufacturing and on the Varo floor. The bridge consists of two isostatic spans of 52 m and 28 m supported by a shoulder on the right hydrographic bank and by a pier and a shoulder on the left bank. The work is a mixed steel-concrete structure, with a section of four steel beams with welded plates, made collaborating by the crosspieces, in double angles, and by the slab, connected by means of Nelson-type peg connectors welded to the upper plat band of the beams themselves. The support devices are made of steel and Teflon, with a fixed point at the shoulders, arranged in such a way as to allow thermal expansion and absorb the horizontal actions of wind and earthquake, both in longitudinal and transverse direction.

The works, carried out by the Temporary Business Grouping consisting of the Pype Line company and the Consorzio Stabile Costruendo, were also financed thanks to a non-repayable contribution from CIPE (2 million and 470 thousand euros) and by the company Smigroup (700 thousand euro) and managed by the municipality, which has budgeted 500 thousand euros.

This is a work that resolves some critical issues in the valley's viability, following the establishment of an important company such as SMI, a company that currently offers work to more than six hundred employees.
