Logistical rearrangement of the Fincantieri plant in Marghera VE

The construction works aimed at the structural reinforcement of the travel routes of the 20+20-ton capacity bridge crane were completed, including the reinforcement of the Foundations, Columns, Brackets and Beams for the installation of the new 75+75-ton capacity bridge crane in the area North of the hull processing workshop (called MAS) of the Marghera Shipyard (STA). After the execution of the CFA piles and the new foundation structures which guarantee the connection between the old and new structure, all the metal carpentry elements of the MAS shed were reinforced; the columns, brackets and runways were reinforced, increasing resistance, and thus allowing the safe use of the new bridge crane. The new work benches have been installed inside the Hull Workshop called MAS, which allow for the welding of sheet metal panels with double the current size (31 x 16.50 m).
LMSTEEL Consulting sagl was entrusted with the detailed construction design of the reinforcements of the columns, the runways and the construction of new workbenches and maintenance walkways. The activities have been developed in the BIM process to verify the interferences with the existing structures, which have been suitably detected and inserted as reference models. The workshop and assembly plans were delivered to the client following the stringent installation phases.
