Assiut Hydrocracking Complex (AHC)

Assiut Hydrocracking Complex (AHC) - Egypt

The building up of the Assiut refinery signed between the two EPC's, the Egyptian ENPPI and the Italian Technip, and the End User Assiut National Oil Processing Company (ANOPC), provides for the addition of a new naphtha complex and a complex of hydrocracking, in order to satisfy the growing demand for petroleum products in Upper Egypt.

The expansion and modernization project will further increase the refining capacity of the existing refinery, which currently produces 4.5 million tonnes per year (Mtpa) of distillation crude.

Assiut National Oil Processing Company (ANOPC) was formed to build and operate Assiut Hydrocracking Complex (Project AHC) which is regarded as one of the most important national projects in the current period. AHC is a deep conversion refining facility for processing the "bottom of barrel" and full fuel oil conversion, based on a "zero fuel oil" Euro V configuration.

LMSTEEL Consulting sagl was in charge with the detailed Structural Design, 3D BIM modeling and construction design of the handling systeem plant relating to the Coke Transport.

The project consists of an handling system transportingof composed by multi-storey towers complete with access stairs and galleries. The structure is made up of commercial-grade metal profiles with standard bolted and/or welded joints. Furthermore, there are the so-called "Mechanical parts" formed by conveyor belts inside the tunnels, rollers, drums, hoppers, sorters, etc.

The finite element calculation models (FEM) are developed with the Straus7 and SAP2000, and the 3D BIM geometric models with Tekla Structures up to the creation of the workshop drawings

BIM «Design for Manutacturing» con TEKLA Structures

We develop complex projects in BIM methodology using the TEKLA STRUCTURES (Trimble) software of which we have 14 active licenses. We have acquired the BIM project management skills. We are qualified as BIM MANAGERS according to the ICMQ certification of Milan in accordance with the specifications of the UNI 11337 standard.

We develop complex projects up to the "Design for manufacturing" and construction management phase with the "paper saving" objective, keeping the digital models updated up to the as-built.

We collaborate with companies and professionals pursuing the maximum collaboration and the perspective of data sharing by creating interchange files in .ifc4 version and in-cloud models through the «Trimble Connect» or «Navisworks» manager.

We are available to builders to create workshop and assembly plans according to their guidelines with the aim of saving machining costs, aligning with CNC machines, progressing activities according to phases of material purchase, machining in the workshop, construction site phases.
