Roissy airport terminal expansion

The merging project for satellites 1, 2 and 3 of Terminal 1 of the "Charles de Gaulle" airport in Paris consists of grouping the boarding gates for international flights in one place. Satellites 1, 2 and 3 housed the departure lounges for international flights from outside Europe and were connected to the check-in areas of Terminal 1 by channels made famous in various films which have now become unsuitable for the increase in air traffic.
The project consists in uniting these satellites in a single departure hall connected by a single access to the check-in areas of the main building of Terminal 1.
This new building of 38,000 m2 is the result of an investment of 97 million euros spread between 2016 and 2020. It will house all boarding functions and will accommodate 1.2 million passengers in 2020. Terminals 1, 2 and 3 therefore become a single building entirely dedicated to boarding international flights from outside Europe.
This new structure will consist of a central building attached to the left to the boarding gates from number 10 to 18 (former satellite 1) and to the right to the connecting tunnel that will lead to the boarding gates from 30 to 38 (former satellite 3). On behalf of the temporary grouping of companies headed by CMC of the Vinci Construction group, which will become the concessionaire of the property, LMSTEEL Consulting has developed the executive structural design of the above ground structures with steel bearing structure and mixed steel-concrete floor slabs. In the design development, the constraints and dimensional tolerances of the glass facades and the passage lines of the systems were considered. For this reason, one of our representatives has held coordination meetings on the site on a weekly basis. The 3D Design for Manufacturing model, for reasons of extension, has been divided into different items coordinated with each other by a federated model updated monthly with the requests of the contracting station (ADP group).
